NASCAR Driver Becomes Violently Sick During Darlington Race - 'Throwing Up And Sh***ing Myself'

NASCAR driver Tyler Reddick is experiencing a severe bout of illness during the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.

With the 500-mile race in its early stages, Reddick reported that he has become violently ill in his car but is continuing with the race.

Reddick requested plain crackers or bread from his team during a pit stop before later communicating the severity of his symptoms to his pit crew:

"I'm throwing up, sh***ing myself, all of the above."

The intensity of his illness forced his team to quickly adapt their strategy. Attempts to provide medication were initially thwarted when Reddick dropped the pills as they were so small. The team then opted to crush the medication into a water bottle, to be administered at the next pit stop.

Reddick's struggles did not end there. He reiterated to his crew that his condition was worsening, leading to additional requests for crackers and Tums pills in a desperate bid to alleviate his symptoms.

Reddick, who is driving the No. 45 car, is currently leading the regular season championship with 823 points followed by Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott with 806 and 805 points, respectively. He is also in the third position for the playoffs.

As the Cook Out Southern 500 is ongoing, there are likely to be more updates on Reddick's condition.
